Any functionality being offered in a theme should be at the end-user's
discretion and in that same vein they should only be using an ID
appropriate to the end-user.

Now, should the theme author be vilified for using their own? No, it would
be much better for them to learn how to make the functionality a Theme
option with a simple form created for the end-user to supply their
appropriate ID.
