Theme has that front-page thing hardcoded into it, which is why it
shows that way in the previewer. See the front-page.php file.

Also, there's nothing wrong with selling an upgraded version of a free
theme in the directory, as long as the free theme meets the GPL
requirements.

I don't see anything particularly wrong there. Is there something I'm missing?
