While I very grudgingly support IE6, the fact remains that even according to
today's usage percentages IE6 has a market share definitely higher than
Safari's, probably higher than Chrome's and depending on which source you
are looking at, it might or might not have a larger share than IE7.
Unfortunately as a developer I am separated from the end-user by the site
owner using the theme, and eventually the decision to support IE6 or not for
one's site doesn't rest in my hands.

For my own sites I wouldn't care for IE6 (I even put a logo for "Browse
Happy" on one of them), but for other folks' sites it isn't my choice to
make.
