[theme-reviewers] w3c validation and html5 in core

-Is it ok to only report errors in a review, or should I state things like 'No php errors or notices was found" aswell?

Always ignore core-generated errors, as they are not caused by the Theme. (The two main culprits are, as you identified, role="aria" and the inline gallery CSS.)

The wp standard search form contains a html5 "role" attribute, but if a html5 doctype is used, the gallery and calendar does not validate,
so do we ignore this when reviewing a theme and approve it anyway, or do we suggest that a new searchform.php is created, without the role attribute?
