Looking through that list, here's what I see:

- Several themes are writing CSS files out directly
- blackline is infected with the same malware
- wp-tube-premium is doing some strange video handling stuff
- comet is using fopen to talk to twitter
- sangsaka-20 is doing text-to-image code and writes files to a cache
- blend is reading a config file
- basis is talking to tinyurl

... and so on.
