Sorry, no offer to contribute. Unfortunately barely able to keep up 
with list reading these days, let alone volunteer for anything beyond 
that.

BUT, a suggestion: whenever a major issue (say, breaking the template 
into multiple files) gets discussed here and when it is eventually 
settled, it might be a good idea for someone (say, the person who had 
initiated the thread in the first place) to make a brief sum-up of 
what's been proposed, what's been said and what will be done, in that 
area...

Of course it'd be nice to also have more generic news about WP dev, but 
I guess this couldn't hurt and help keep people in the loop of WP's 
future without having to read the whole list.

Anyway, just my two yens...
