[wp-hackers] Accessing post details in 'publish_post' action

I've looked around, and can't find an example 'publish_post' action that 
contains sample code for accessing the data in the post.

Can anyone recommend a publish_post plugin that demonstrates this 
effectively?  I'm not writing a filter, if that helps.
