[wp-hackers] wimpy player AND a possible solution?

Okay,

Just to inform everybody about Flash,mp3 and streaming:

-Flash has standard support for the loading (inside or from a diff
location, note sure about diff domains) and playing of mp3 files.

-There are free components for a lot of functionality such as a mp3
player component (see http://www.flashcomponents.net/ search for 'player')

-streaming is basically letting the player know (path to file) were to
find the file (have a look at you .pls or m3u files in a
text-editor)....nothing more nothing less. If you want a diff encoding,
that`s a whole diff story.

The only reason one should have a look at wimpy player is if you don`t
have the time/money/ability to code yourself BUT if we want to make
Wordpress gain more ground, it might be better to create a plugin by
ourselves and provide this under the GPL/LGPL.

I`m currently working on a diff specialistic mp3 player for a project
called SIMUZE (see http://www.bdisfunctional.net/simuze), but I`am
willing to share the code under a OSSI license. I`d be interested in
fellow coders to adjust it to fit with Wordpress...just let me know....

grtz
