I agree with whomever posted that you can configure your date _upon 
installation_.  There is NO happy-medium.  None.  Not one.  There are 
standards, there are customs and there are preferences, but since it's 
customizable software can't we just move on and code really useful 
plugins and enhancements and then teach the WordPress users how to 
update their settings via the multiple options pages?
