Dominance does not necessarily represent intelligence or comprehension of
anything beyond the most basic of principles. Your readiness to jump in and
defend American intelligence is ironically indicative of this point. There
are stupid people worldwide, in droves too, but make no mistake: The United
States of America is one of the dumbest nations in the world. Our test
scores are lower, and as a few articles of a few months back will show,
we're winning fewer awards, publishing fewer scientific papers, etc. year
after year.

It's a tangent, but I think it's a supremely important point that Americans
stop lauding themselves and take a hit when its deserved: we *are* dumb.
Many of us probably *don't* understand something as simple as the 24-hour
time format.

Honestly though, it's just the arrogance of that tired "America didn't
become the #1 (fill in the blank) for nothin'!" platitude. It's the type of
blindingly idiotic arrogance and oversimplification that is why the world
hates us, for one, but also probably why we can't understand the 24-hour
time format: we didn't use it, therefore it's #2, and we're number 1!!!!

Okay, I'm done... back to your hacking...
