Correct, nopaging is 1.3 only.  There's no way to turn paging off in
1.2, although 1.2 doesn't page in as many places as 1.3 does.  You might
be able to work around this in 1.2 by setting posts per page to some
ridiculously big number, effectively neutralizing the built-in paging.
Ugly, but it should work.
