 I vote we retire it.

 Given the new REST API work, it _seems_ like it should be straighforward
 to listen to textboxes with a given class and provide member suggestions
 (appropriate to the member's permissions/context--like group members only
 in a group activity update box). This would be useful all over a BP site,
 like in custom forms where you are associating members with an assignment,
 for example.
