 Not necessarily (yet), but will be replaced shortly by Nouveau or at least
 new installs will default to Nouveau with bp-legacy as a switchable option
 (established installs will continue to use bp-legacy until they choose to
 switch over)

 Have a look at Nouveau, it approaches hooks in a different manner, largely
 doing away with the notion of template do_actions.
