Comment:

 I've tweaked things a bit, mostly just the TODOs I left in the previous
 patch, shortened some variable names, and son on. I need to test this to
 check it still works in its entirely, but:

 I would like code review of the changes in bp-core-functions.php.
 Especially the hashing/salt logic.
