 Thanks for your reply @DJPaul - I suspect the goal should be less of
 imgur, and more to enable a registration flow similar to Facebook. This
 would have minimal initial registration requirements (username/password),
 with the ability to easily create a flow afterwards to fill out optional
 profile fields (like image). Option to redirect for post-registration
 flow, and ability for this post registration flow to redirect elsewhere I
 think would accomplish this.

 It would allow out the box experience to support facebook like
 registration flow, without requiring images be uploaded before sign-in,
 and still provide a hook for plugins to enhance the registration flow.
