 BuddyPress should use the `screen_icon()` function to improve
 compatibility with the wide-range of WordPress versions it supports.
 `screen_icon()` was silently deprecated in WordPress 3.8, which improves
 our output to what WordPress would normally anticipate vs. using CSS to
 hide our no-longer-valid output.
