 This seems like a good idea in the long run, but I don't see the need for
 it at the moment. I can only think of a small handful of toggleable
 component-specific features: message starring, activity favoriting,
 activity mentions, maybe that's it? By all means, let's break them out
 into separate files that are loaded conditionally. But let's not introduce
 new directory structure until it's actually needed - that is, until we've
 chopped up existing functionality to be truly modular, or until we've got
 so many neat geegaws that we need the extra folder :)
