 I agree with that idea in general, but I think that a simple toggle for
 setting beginning and ending dates for the date field might be an
 exception. It's hard to think of a use case for the date field where these
 settings *wouldn't* be useful. That said, I'm willing to listen to the
 wisdom of the crowds on this point.
