Comment:

 On https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/trunk/bp-templates/bp-
 legacy/buddypress-functions.php?rev=7952#L687 please can we not have an
 assignment operator used in an `if` statement like this? It's pretty hard
 to follow, and there's a warning about this
