 This could be a related problem with #4324.

 In that ticket, I tell the user to var_dump `current_time()` which is what
 `bp_core_current_time()` is using.

 We might have to look into the
 [http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/current_time
 current_time()] function to see where the culprit is.
