 It might have something to do with your subdirectory multisite setup.

 I just spent some time creating a new subdirectory multisite setup from
 scratch.

 BuddyPress is network-activated with the following in wp-config.php:

 {{{
 define( 'BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG', true );
 }}}

 No other plugins are activated on any of the sites.

 I have the following member directories (sites are bolded):

 eg.
 '''localhost/'''community/members (TwentyEleven theme with BP Template
 Pack installed)
 '''localhost/subsite/'''our-community/members (bp-default theme)

 Both the '''localhost''' site and the '''localhost/subsite''' member links
 resolve properly for me.
