Comment:

 Was thinking about this some more, and while I think that there's
 something outside of BP itself causing the problem on the OP's
 installation, I also think that on BP's end, this is another of the
 consequences of the juggling of active_components and loaded_components. A
 harmless fix involves doing an empty($id) check before running the
 $bp->{$id} stuff in bp_is_current_component(). At a minimum, this is
 something that can be harmlessly introduced for 1.5.1.
