 I think the delete button which is added to each activity should be less
 prominent.

 I've attached a suggestion which fits the new default theme well:

 - hover-on-activity.jpg: When your mouse hovers over the current activity
 "area".
 - hover-on-button.jpg: When your mouse hovers over the delete button.

 That means 1 less button per activity update = simplified/better overview.
