 To expand on this report.

 When a Person B requests to join Person A's Private Group, and Person A
 accepts the request, in the Private Group's Activity Stream, the
 bp_activity record is incorrect. The user_id in the database record is 0.

 Joining a Private Group via a Group Invitation works fine, however.
