Comment:

 It may or may not be the same bug, but I am unable to view my profile on
 buddypress.org.  Same thing - it just redirects to the homepage.

 However, I hypothesize it's because I have a space in my username.  I
 haven't had a chance to test this but it seems like a likely candidate.
