 I just tried this on WP 3.01, Default-Theme, 1.2.5.2   I just uploaded a
 new avatar to my test user (subscriber level) and it is working fine.
 I.E. the avatar uploaded correctly, can be seen, and the path appears
 correctly.

 Here is one of the paths to the recent test:
 http://musicpln.org/wp-content/uploads/avatars/16/a23876fa53b44642fb25
 Which it where I understand it should be going to....
