[bbDev] Plugin Update Notification

Alright, so I've been thinking about this ever since I saw it come up in the
ideas section of Wordpress.org. Basically, right now, for Wordpress to tell
you if your plugin is out of date would be sort of hard as there is no
central place to get these plugins. However, since bbPress has such a
wonderful, centralized plugin respository, I think that once the plugin
system is completed, the next step ought to be a "(so and so) plugin is up
to date. (so and so) plugin is not up to date, here is the link to update."
message displayed in the plugins section of the admin panel.

How it might work:
It wouldn't be too hard, a section would be added to the admin panel under
plugins called updates. When you go to the plugins -> updates section,
bbPress sends out a little query to the plugin repository, checks the
version, and tells you if you what the latest version is and whether you
have that version and maybe provides a link to get it. This option could be
turned off too for those of us who don't want it.

There's one thing that bbPress could have that few other forum systems have.
I realize this would probably take a good bit of effort to implement so it
wouldn't have to come soon, but I just thought I'd post this idea here to
see what everyone's take on it was.
