 Excuse me, I misspoke. There are a few tests (numeric, by email, by
 nicename), but my concern was it defaults to the "ID" field immediately
 upon seeing a fully-numeric value in $user_id (FYI, this also allows users
 to login using the database auto-increment ID and their password).
