 I don't have time to investigate this and I suspect it's because of
 something new, perhaps with allowing custom pages to be added, but bbPress
 1.0a2 fails to it's pseudo 404 when an empty query is passed.

 ie.  http://example.com/forum/?

 strangely, it doesn't fail when a random query is passed

 ie.  http://example.com/forum/?testing

 I would bet this is because the empty query somehow make it to the topic
 parser and ends up with topic id #0 but this is just a complete guess. So
 if it's easy to fix, please allow an empty query to be ignored/passed.

 (Yes I know an empty query is probably a sign of bad code but it's a
 shortcut I've used in the past for various reasons)
