 Greetings,

Having gone through a lot of WordPress sites, on my own sites and for
clients, I came across so many errors in the Apache error log for one main
reason; quite a lot of WordPress default directories do not have an index
file. It really slows down troubleshooting and creates a lot of needless
 entries in the error log(s).

There are many benefits for every directory to have an index file and is
something that only needs to be done once, if done at the core level and
automatically carried on in each new release.

Please consider this as a request to insert an index file of some kind
into every default WordPress directory. It can even be blank and call it
what you will although .htm .html would seem to be favourable as most
servers can display those formats. Maybe have more than one format to be
 on the safe side.

 Thank you for your consideration.

 Rob
