 I remember seeing similar version numbers on
 [https://web.archive.org/web/20220706091835/https://fontsource.org/fonts
 /noto-serif Fontsource], but I cannot find them there anymore. The
 [https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Noto+Sans%3A400italic%2C700italic%2C400%2C700%7CNoto+Serif%3A400italic%2C700italic%2C400%2C700%7CInconsolata%3A400%2C700&subset=latin
 %2Clatin-ext&display=fallback Google Fonts stylesheet] from older versions
 of Twenty Fifteen now shows the version number of Noto Serif as `v23`.

 For the themes up to Twenty Seventeen, most fonts are only one version
 ahead of last year's and Merriweather is the same.
