 The issue at hand is that the media modal doesn't retain filter settings
 for featured images, as discussed in thread #23205. The request is to have
 the "uploaded to this post" filter remember settings independently for
 featured images. The challenge is that images uploaded directly to the
 media library aren't automatically attached to posts, and there's a
 suggestion to use an API for this, considering related discussions in
 #23041 and #32622. The proposed solution is to set the filter to show all
 images if no images are attached to the post, ensuring a smoother user
 experience.
