Comment:

 With the [https://make.wordpress.org/core/2024/02/27/i18n-improvements-6-5
 -performant-translations/ new i18n system in WordPress 6.5] this is likely
 a non-issue now as it's much faster than the old one, and supports PHP
 translation files.
