 Are you reporting that files uploaded through XML-RPC do not display
 properly in the upload viewer, lacking attachment metadata? Your proposed
 solution involves moving wp_create_thumbnail() to functions.php,
 introducing a new function wp_generate_thumbnail_metadata(), and utilizing
 this new function. This approach also creates thumbnails for all XML-RPC
 uploaded images. Do you intend to mark this change as a milestone for
 version 2.1?
