 I've refreshed the patch and collapsed the duplicate profile links into a
 single item.

 While using the menu role isn't ideal, I think that we should set aside
 semantic purity for the sake of having the adminbar submenus functional,
 which this patch does accomplish.

 The behavior on the About WordPress menu item is kind of weird - it does
 work, but not on arrival from the skip link, and the reason isn't clear to
 me.

 But I think that this is something we should get in place sooner rather
 than later, regardless. While this fix isn't perfect, it is *much* better
 than what's in place right now - which is completely broken.
