As a manager overseeing multiple client sites, it's understandable that
your email address gets utilized as the "Administration Email Address" in
various settings, particularly within WordPress installations. However, as
clients transition to other vendors, updating these settings can become
challenging, often leaving your email address associated with accounts you
 no longer manage.

This situation isn't unique to you and has been recognized by other
WordPress developers as well. While it may seem like a minor inconvenience
in the day-to-day operations, it can accumulate into a significant problem
 over time.

To address this issue, I suggest implementing a solution that offers a
time-sensitive link similar to the one used for new account registrations.
This link would allow the current owner of the admin email address to
verify their identity and agree to have the email address removed from the
 "Administration Email Address" setting.

By providing a mechanism for email address removal that ensures security
and accountability, WordPress can offer a more robust solution to this
widespread problem. This approach would empower site administrators to
manage their settings more effectively and reduce the occurrence of
outdated email addresses associated with accounts.Replying to

 > Over time, clients move to other vendors, and sometimes this happens
without the opportunity to change the Administration Email Address before
it is moved. In many cases, this email address remains unchanged for
years, and I continue to receive software update, user account, and other
emails for accounts I have no contact with, and no way to access to change
 the setting.

believe it is a widespread problem, although one easy to dismiss on a day-
to-day basis. I did a search through Trac tickets and didn't see anything
like it, so I am posting this ticket in hopes that a solution can be
 reached.

(similar to new account registrations) that would allow the owner of the
admin to click through to the link, and agree to have the email address
removed as the "Administration Email Address".
