 Thank you everyone! I think this ticket is complete.

 I've opened #59455 for the ongoing initiative to replace all
 `trigger_error()` instances with `wp_trigger_error()`. It's a blessed task
 in the spirit of other similar initiatives in each release, such as
 #58833, #58976, #58955, etc.
