 Guys,

 Very frustrating seeing this looked at purely through a core perspective
 (and this seems to be a widespread problem).

 Wordpress is more than anything a platform for plugins. Heartbeat is a
 standard way of communicating used by 100s on the front end and back end.
 It is even used by plugins for non logged in users.

 There is a huge performance benefit here even without a solution for the
 no-store header
