 Hi @germars - well, yes and no. I was able to hide the errors by changing
 the setting in wp-config.php to:

 define('WP_DEBUG', false);

 This merely hides the error code, but does not solve the underlying
 problem. It was meant as a quick fix. I would still like to actually solve
 this properly, however.
