 When distraction free mode is accessed via the menu, there is no obvious
 way to switch back.

 I did some searching and Control + Shift + / is supposed to be the toggle,
 but it does not work for me.
 It did activate another application (KeePass), but I closed that (it runs
 as a service), but that made no difference!
 I did discover that when you move the mouse close to the top of the
 editing area a tool bar appears - which helps, but I found the mouse needs
 to be in an exact location for the drop down to appear.  So it is not an
 obvious action.
 But still no luck with the shortcut (tried on two different Window 11
 PC's)
