Comment (by Joen):

The colors in the handbook are indeed out of date, and overdue for an
update. In fact I'd love to see in the near future a more easily findable
central location for all things design (such as wordpress.org/design) that
 would include details like these.

At the moment the best way to find info on explored new colors are in
 [https://www.figma.com/file/e4tLacmlPuZV47l7901FEs/WordPress-Design-
 Library?type=design&node-id=28593%3A26957&mode=design&t=Gw8PPw4JjVhQwMvc-1
the WordPress Design Library Figma], as well as
 [https://www.figma.com/file/HOJTpCFfa3tR0EccUlu0CM/WordPress.org-Design-
 Library?type=design&node-id=1%3A2193&mode=design&t=OqQEAxT1Ih9HIvoz-1 the
WordPress.org Design Library]. As noted, I expect those to expand to a
 central and easily findable location.

That said, I would suggest there ould always be a "classic" color scheme
 with the existing colors.
