Comment:

 This ticket was discussed in the recent bug scrub. This still needs deeper
 investigation and is being tracked in
 [https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/projects/66 the Fonts API project
 board]. Moving this to `Future Release` until the root cause is found.
