Comment:

 Not sure, but I guess this is the default behaviour. So, for example, if
 any user of Sub-site A tries to log in with the username, and password of
 Sub-site B, he is automatically redirected to Sub-site A. And when a
 password reset is initiated, the request gets processed through the Main
 site. The user is asked to reset the password also through the main site's
 domain link, and in the email too, the name of that main site is used. As
 the full process of resetting takes part on the main site, I guess this is
 expected to use the main site's name in the Email. After all, all the
 sites are under one network, and it doesn't seem to be an issue using the
 name of the main site in the Site name field in the email.

 But, let's see what others in the community think about this.
