 Given that this will be introduced with 6.3, it would be ideal to resolve
 before final release next week as waiting for 6.3.1 could lead to folks
 relying on the current location/approach.  I know that time is short, but
 if there's capacity to re-architect into an existing file that seems much
 better than punting a newly introduced issue.
