 seem like an issue with WordPress itself, especially if it is only
 happening on this particular site.

 * Anything else you think might be helpful

 Looking at possible causes, it may be an empty `update-nag` or similar
 admin notice.

 This is after removing all the contents, including the extra notice
 classes, leaving an empty `<div class="update-nag"></div>`.
