 Oh... just thinking.. what ''may'' be an elegant way to solve this,
 preventing the fatal, but still putting the onus of upgrading their code
 on plugin developers:

 > Add a `wp-includes/Requests/library/Requests.php` file with the only
 content in that file being `include_once ABSPATH . WPINC . '/class-
 requests.php`.
