 @hellofromTonya The only remaining task on this ticket for 5.7 is to make
 sure a dev note happens - any tweaks to the new colors are happening on
 #52402.

 Once the dev note/docs are taken care of, we can move this to a 5.8
 milestone for custom properties work (which is
 [https://make.wordpress.org/core/2021/01/29/introducing-css-custom-
 properties/ being discussed on make/core]).
