#51149: Syntax Error due to WordPress 5.5 – WPBakery Page Builder

Upon updating the millwaymarina.com website to WordPress 5.5, I could no
longer edit certain modules (i.e. Text Box, Icon Box) within the WPBakery
Page Builder. A syntax error will occur within a wp file (wp-load.php).

All other plugins were up to date. All were disabled to see if that helped
with the syntax error. The only things that worked was reverting back to
 WordPress 5.4.2.

As a developer, my assumption is something is wrong with the wp-load.php
file OR the user's database needs to be conditioned better upon upgrading
 to WordPress 5.5.

 NOTES:
 1) Because I use the free plugin, I only use the frontend editor within
 WPBakery Page Builder.
 2) No screenshot of the error as I forgot to take one before I reverted
 back to WordPress 5.4.2
