 A dev note could def. help. This will throw notices on all non-trunk/5.5.x
 releases too.

 Regarding the timing, if 5.5.1 releases ahead of October 24th, I don't
 think we should merge this. Since the API will self-deprecate, I think we
 should leave it in until after. (Like we did with the Hulu changes.
