 @Clorith With an eye on #47699, shouldn't `json` be `required => true` ?

 Also: the `function` check should be on the `json_last_error` function as
 WP polyfilled all the other functions, including `json_encode()`, which
 means the `function_exists()` won't work as intended when used with
 `json_encode()`.
